15/05/09 - 350,000 For Improvements To East beach

Shoebury East Beach will get a £350,000 revamp with new picnic areas and improved parking facilities.

Shoebury residents have told you local councillor's in the past that they want action to stop youths speeding, playing loud music and driving dangerously.

In addition a new foot and cycle path will be added. There are plans also to tidy up the existing High Street footpath and add some low level security lighting.

The proposal will also mean that more land is free of cars and more trees will be planted making the area more attractive.

There is a public briefing session for all Shoebury residents of the new East beach proposals being held on Thursday 28th May 2009 at Shoeburyness High School from 18:00 - 21:00.
