25/08/09 - Ganapati Visarjan Festival

On Sunday 30th August 2009, Shoeburyness will once again play host to the Ganapti Visarjan Festival at Shoebury east Beach.

Lord Ganesha’s birthday is regarded by followers of Hinduism as the most sacred event in their faith’s calendar.  It is observed by Hindus throughout the world and is India’s largest public celebration.

The celebration will see crowds of people, dressed in brightly coloured religious clothing taking part in traditional dancing and musical performances.  Members of the ShreeJalaramSevaTrustTemple will play Indian drums and other musical instruments whilst a prayer tent will provide some space for anyone that wishes to pray or join in with religious chanting.

Promted by Rochford & Southend East Conservatives Association on behalf of Shoebury Conservatives all at Suite 2, Strand House, 742 Southchurch Road, Southend on Sea, Essex, SS1 2PS
