Primary school children at St George's Primary School are stepping out to mark national walk to school week with a walking bus trial on Friday 22nd May.
This allows parents and children to try the walking bus for one day to see how it operates before commiting to use the bus regularly.
Pupils at St George's will be joining over a million children in primary schools across the country who are taking part in similar events.
Shoeburyness ward councillor Pat rayner commented:
"We are very keen to encourage as many people as possible to walk to school and hope this event will encourage more people to do so.
"The walk to school is an ideal way for parents, carers and children to enjoy their time together away from the stresses of traffic jams"
