Shoebury Conservatives have welcomed the news that Southend Council has received a national award for listening to its customers to improve services and customer satisfaction.
The council scooped first prize in the Govmetric Council of the year award 2009. Govmetric is the system that local authorities use to monitor customer satisfaction and act quickly on the results.
Shoeburyness Ward councillor Roger Hadley commented:
"This is a fantastic achievement and recognises the work that the Conservative administration is doing around customer service and value for money.
