29/01/10 - Mobile Graffiti Wall comes to Shoebury

Shoebury Conservatives have today welcomed the news that a graffiti wall will be taken around areas where teenagers meet up in Shoebury to deter them from spraying graffiti on public buildings.

The boards will then be displayed at the new £2.9 million Youth Centre in Delaware Road. The scheme is likely to get underway in March and is run by Southend Council funded Connexions and South Essex Homes along with the Guinness Trust.

A silimar graffiti wall run by local PCSO's in Shoeburyness Park proved successful in helping reduce graffiti in Shoeburyness and a mural was also installed in Avon Way by South Essex Homes last summer which was well received by local youngsters.
